Day 1: Anatomic Day
Live Demonstrations & Hands-on Fresh Cadaver
- Full anatomy of pelvic compartments.
- Identification of anatomy for your PE surgery on fresh model
- Dissection principal and guidance
- Practical application of PE surgical concepts
Day 2: Lecture Day
Surgery Techniques
- Pre-operative planning and Image reading
- Anatomy and technical criteria for the application of PE
- Techniques for resection of the lateral pelvis, pelvic floor, presacral, and lesser pelvis
- Strategies and prognosis for management of the iliac arteries and common/external iliac veins
- Reconstructive strategies for abdominal wall, ilioinguinal region and lateral pelvic after “en bloc” resection
- Preoperative preparation and perioperative considerations
- Prevention and treatment of empty pelvis syndrome and pelvic floor reconstruction
- Case study – integrating the learnings
Day 3: Live Surgery Day
Live Surgery Observation & Discussion
- 2 live surgeries will be performed in detail with interactive communications.

Prof. Jian Zhang
Director, Department of Colorectal Surgery, Shanghai Changzheng Hospital
Director of Pelvic Exenteration Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association
Prof. Zhang has extensive clinical experience of more than 600 cases PE surgeries; more than 3,500 cases of colorectal cancer surgery; more than 1,700 cases of abdominal wall/pelvic floor defect repair and reconstruction surgery; and various types of hernias and complex abdominal wall reconstruction.

Prof. Peter Lee
Director of Surgery Royal Prince Alfred Hospital,Sydney
Chairman of JL Operating Theatres
Prof. Peter Lee is a top international expert in pelvic exenteration, having published over 80 clinical papers and co-authored 7 academic works. He has delivered hundreds of academic presentations globally and is a distinguished contributor to the PelvEx Collaboratives.
He and Prof. Michael Solomon's team have accumulated more than 1,000 PE surgeries at the RPA Hospital, making it the centre with the largest single-centre PE volume in the world.

Dr. Haiyang Zhou
Deputy Director, Asso. Prof., Dept. of Colorectal Surgery, Shanghai Changzheng Hospital
Trained at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Harvard Medical School, USA from 2014-2016. Dr.Zhou has accumulated more than 5,000 cases of gastrointestinal surgery experience. He has published more than 50 papers in international journals.

Dr. James Khaw
Head of Unit of Colorectal Surgery Penang General Hospital
Dr. Khaw is a distinguished expert in the field of pelvic and abdominal surgery in Malaysia. He was honored with the Excellent Service Award in 2011 and was nominated as one of the top ten at the Malaysian Colorectal Disease Society in 2022.

Dr. Ning Su
Ass. Director, Asso. Prof., Dept. of Colorectal Surgery, Shanghai Changzheng Hospital
Dr. Su experienced in clinical diagnosis and treatment of colorectal diseases, with an average of 4,000 patients treated annually and over 1,000 surgeries performed. Specializes in laparoscopic techniques, Da Vinci robotic surgery, and pelvic exenteration for advanced rectal cancer since 2018.
